Denmark: High school pupils convicted for rap song
On 19 October 2006 two pupils from Køge High School, south of the Danish capital Copenhagen, were convicted for having written a rap song in which the threatened to kill their teacher
The two young men, today 17 years old, were convicted according to Danish law paragraph 266. The judge said that they are elligable to be imprisoned in up to years, but if they are not caught doing any similar offense during the next year, they will go free.
In the lyrics of the rap song which was placed on a website on the internet two years ago, the two young men expressed that they wished their teacher would die, and that they "knew what it would take". This is something I often think about stabbed or shot – to see you die would thrill me
In court, the two men explained that it was meant as a joke, and they had never intended to carry out the threats.
