Freemuse at WOMEX 2006
At the yearly tradefair WOMEX, Freemuse – represented by editor Daniel Brown and singer Clotaire K – presented the session "New Horizons for Freemuse"

The speakers brought to attention cases of censored or banned artists such as Madonna, Ferhat Tunç, Deeyah, Xardas, Thomas Mapfumu, Valery Ponomarev, and Dixie Chicks. They also spoke about how Freemuse works. Clotaire K told about his attendance at the Freemuse seminar in Beirut where musicians, researchers, officials, and religious scholars met and discussed music censorship. Daniel Brown told about his attendance at the Freemuse seminar in Senegal which made him realise how complicated the situation is for musicians in West Africa. In the end of the session there were questions from the audience.
The presentation at Womex in Sevilla took place on 27 October 2006 at 5:00-5:45 PM in the conference room "Ronda".
