The Spanish National Court tried the six members of the Basque band Soziedad Alkoholika for an alleged crime of praising ETA's terrorism in the lyrics of their songs 'Explota Zerdo' ('Exploit Pig'), 'Síndrome del Norte' ('Syndrome of the north'), 'Ya Güelen' ('They smell') and 'Palomas y Buitres' ('Doves and vultures').

ETA stands for 'Euskadi Ta Askatasuna' which is Basque for 'Basque Homeland and Freedom' – a paramilitary Basque organisation listed as a terrorist organisation both by the European Union and the United States in their watchlists on the matter. The charges against Soziedad Alkoholika included humiliation of ETA's terrorism victims.

The Basque news and information channel Euskal Irrati Telebista (EiTB24.com) reported that the members of the Basque hardcore band denied the charges for the lyrics of their songs. They also assured they don't support and have nothing to do with ETA.

The accusation notes that among those records produced by the recording company Mil A Gritos Record S.L., there are songs whose lyrics have "offending expressions" that constitute a "humiliation" and "disdain" for ETA victims, as well as the justification of their attacks.

Juan Manuel Aceña, Roberto Miguel Castresana, Fernando Etxabarri, Jesús Jiménez, Fernando Rodríguez and Javier Ballesteros are facing a one-year and a half prison petition for the alleged crime of praising terrorism.
