Pakistani musician Pervaiz Akhtar, today based in Denmark, explains (in Danish language) about his personal experiences with music censorship in Pakistan.
The interview was held in connection with a ‘Concert against music censorship’ which was organised by the Danish Refugee Council in Copenhagen on 24 October 2008.
After the interview, Pervaiz Akhtar performed together with his orchestra: Mir Wais Fidai from Afghanistan on tabla drums and Kamlesh Koreshya from India on dhulak. The songs are Pervaiz Akhtar's own compositions.
This excerpt of the interview by Annemette Kirkegaard with Pervaiz Akhtar was recorded in connection with his concert at the event entitled 'Concert against music censorship' which was organised by the Danish Refugee Council (Dansk Flygtningehjælp) on the occassion of the 60-years-day for the UN Human Rights Declaration on 24 October 2008 at Borups Højskole in Copenhagen, Denmark.
