Den kurdisk-tyrkiske sanger Ferhat Tunç er født i 1964 i Tyrkiets østligste region, Dersim. Hans musik har været bandlyst i Tyrkiet, og han har i øjeblikket en række forskellige retssager kørende, hvor han står anklaget for overtrædelse af tyrkisk lov.


Ferhat Tunç var inviteret til Stockholm den 3. marts 2009 for at tale ved en konference om musikcensur og for at optræde til et gallashow i anledning af den årlige Music Freedom Day.
