Freemuse Award 2010
to an Iranian and a Turkish singer


At an award ceremony in London on 25 March 2010, Mahsa Vahdat and Ferhat Tunç will receive the Freemuse Award 2010. They are strong defenders of freedom of musical expression and well-known to audiences in Europe, where their music — unlike in their home countries — can be performed without restrictions.

New Freemuse CD: 'Listen to the banned'


On 3 March 2010 – the day which was celebrated in several cities around the world promoting the freedom of musical expression – Grappa Musikkforlag published the CD album 'Listen to the banned' – a unique collection of contemporary songs by artists who have been censored, persecuted, taken to court, imprisoned and even tortured for a very simple reason – their music.
