The scheduled Freemuse report on the 9/11 terror attacks and their effects on freedom of musical expression has been postponed. Dr. Dietrich Helms, Institut für Musik und ihre Didaktik der Universität Dortmund and co-editor of the book, will be interviewed by Bram Posthumus in this conference session, which besides giving a general introduction to the book will focus on Helm’s contribution to the book, entitled “I Can’t See New York”? Der 11. September und die Bedeutung von “Bedeutung populärer Musik”. (September 11 and the meaning of “meaning of popular music”.)
Date and venue: Friday 29 October 2004, 3.00h, at WOMEX, Essen, Germany. |
